Toronto Argonauts 2024 Cfl Global Draft Class

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts added two Global players to their roster Tuesday afternoon during the CFL’s 2024 Global Draft.

Round 1, Pick 7 – Jeremy Edwards – Eastern Kentucky – Australia

Round 2, Pick 16 – Denzel Daxon – Illinois – Bahamas

Edwards, 6’5 and 220lbs, attended Eastern Kentucky from 2022-2023, punting 42 times for 1,756 yards (41.8 average) in 11 games in 2023, with a long of 55 and 16 punts pinned inside the 20. In 2022, the Australia native averaged 36.8 yards per punt in 12 games, including a 61-yard boot and 13 punts inside the 20-yard line. Edwards trained at Prokick Australia.

Daxon, 6’2 and 320lbs, spent 2023 at the University of Illinois where over the course of 12 games (11 starts) Daxon tallied 27 tackles. The Bahamas native who emigrated to the United States in 2016 started his collegiate career at Ohio University in 2019 eventually gaining playing time as a sophomore and junior. The defensive lineman played 24 games for the Bobcats making 11 tackles and one sack.
