TORONTO – One of Canada’s most popular and iconic rock bands, The Trews, will perform at BMO Field both before and during halftime of the Eastern Final on Saturday, November 11th. The six-time Juno Award-nominated band from Nova Scotia will perform a special acoustic rendition of their hit song “Highway of Heroes” as part of a Remembrance Day pre-game ceremony.
Formed in 2007, The Trews have rolled out seven critically acclaimed studio albums, highlighted by numerous radio hits, and are the recipients of seven East Coast Music Awards over the years. The band has shared the stage with legendary musicians such as The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Weezer, Rich Robinson, and many more.
With tickets for the upper east side of BMO Field going on sale two weeks earlier than last season’s Eastern Final, the Argos have already sold more than 23,000 tickets, already more than the 21,331 Double Blue fans who watched Toronto take down Montreal a year ago on their way to a Grey Cup championship.
The Double Blue will take on Montreal for a fourth time this season after beating the Quebec team all three times during the regular season. The Argos and Alouettes are no strangers to a playoff game at BMO Field as these two teams squared off in 2022’s version of the Eastern Final, with the Boatmen punching their ticket to the Grey Cup with a 34-27 win in front of the home crowd. This year will see a record-breaking 16-2 Argonaut team take on an 11-7 Montreal team fresh off a Division Semi-Final win vs. Hamilton last Saturday.
The first 10,000 fans through the gates at BMO Field on Saturday will also receive an Argos tote bag.
