The Toronto Argonauts will officially celebrate the franchise’s 150th Anniversary in two weeks and many of the greatest legends in Argos history will join fans at a 150th Anniversary pre-game tailgate and special anniversary game, both presented by BMO, on Friday, October 6 as the Argos host the Edmonton Elks to mark the historic occasion.

The top three leaders in passing yards in Argos history, Ricky Ray, Condredge Holloway and Damon Allen will attend an autograph session for fans at the pre-game tailgate at the Stanley Barracks from 4 to 4:45 p.m. followed by three of the most prolific wide receivers in franchise history, Terry Greer, Raghib ‘Rocket’ Ismail and Derrell ‘Mookie’ Mitchell from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. Dozens of other Argos legends will also be in attendance to take part in on-field tributes to 150 years of Argos football throughout the game including Carl Brazley, Rodney Harding, Chad Owens, and Michael ‘Pinball” Clemons, the current General Manager of the Toronto Argonauts and a member of the team’s ‘All-Time Argos’ list.

“The Argos have had so much to celebrate in the franchise’s 150 years, including a record 18 Grey Cup Championships. The opportunity to bring together our fans and so many legendary alumni on October 6th for the 150th anniversary game will undoubtedly go down as an unforgettable spectacle,” said Clemons. “We look forward to a historic night just 14 days away celebrating 150 years of great memories and the great people who created them!”

The pre-game tailgate will open to fans at 3:30 p.m. where food, drinks and entertainment, including Argos alumni being interviewed on stage, will be available until 6:15 before moving to BMO Field for the game against Edmonton and 150th Anniversary pre-game ceremony.

Throughout the game, tributes will be held for each of the fifteen decades of Argos football and the special moments and players who created them on the field including a historic 150th Anniversary halftime ceremony.

Officially founded on October 4, 1873, the Toronto Argonauts are the winningest club in Canadian Football history with a record 18 Grey Cup Championships to their credit. The team was founded by the Argonaut Rowing Club as a means to keep rowing club members in shape during the off-season.
