CFL All-Star LB Wynton McManis Remains in Double Blue

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today that the team has re-signed American LB Wynton McManis through 2023.

McManis, 28, joined the Argos via free agency last February and had an outstanding first season in Toronto being nominated as a CFL All-Star for the first time while amassing 88 defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles, three sacks, two interceptions including one for a touchdown, and one forced fumble in only 14 games played after a knee injury cut his regular-season short. The Memphis native’s 88 tackles ranked sixth in the league and were a career high, as were his three sacks and two picks. McManis was the team’s nominee for Most Outstanding Defensive Player. The four-year CFL veteran has compiled 192 defensive tackles, 48 special teams tackles, seven sacks, two interceptions, three forced fumbles and one interception in 57 regular season games between Calgary (2017-2019) and Toronto.
