Football is finally back at BMO Field and we have a whole lot in store for everyone in attendance on Saturday (4:00 PM kickoff).
First and foremost, it’s the home opener. The boys in Double Blue return home to kick off their 2019 season after a perfect 2-0-0 preseason which saw them pick up wins over both Montreal and Hamilton.
Speaking of Hamilton, this will be the first of three matchups against our rivals from down the QEW and the only chance to catch the Battle of the QEW at BMO Field this season.
Back in May, Argos’ all-time leading passer Ricky Ray announced his retirement from the CFL. Ray was one the best to ever done an Argos’ jersey and he will be back in town on Saturday.
Ricky will be celebrated on the field with a pre-game ceremony that will start about 15 minutes prior to kickoff. Ricky will also be in the shipyard pre-game party signing autographs and meeting fans from 2 pm to 3 pm.
The Shipyard itself will be rocking in a new location this season. The pre-game party will be held in the North Patio and open up two hours before kickoff. The North Patio is located between gates 1 and 3. Just like last year fans will be able to partake in some pre-game festivities including chalk talks, alumni meet and greets, games, and food and drink specials.
New this season we are proud to offer up Game Day Deals including $5 beers and $3 hot dogs available all game, every game. There are 25 beer vendors in the stadium that will offer the promotion. The offer will also be available at the Shipyard pre-game.
And last but not least the first 7,000 fans to walk through the gates on Saturday will receive a Derel Walker Bobblehead courtesy of World Financial Group.
