Argos add two: INT WR Chandler Worthy & INT DB Ronald Zamort

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced today the signing of International WR Chandler Worthy and DB Ronald Zamort.

Worthy, 25, is back in Double Blue after playing four games for the club last season and spending training camp and pre-season with the Argos this year. The native of Georgia was originally signed by the Houston Texans in 2015 and played in three games that season for the team. The 5’9, 176-pound WR, played the following pre-season with the New York Jets before being released during final cuts in September 2016.

Worthy had four very productive seasons at Troy University (2011-2014), in 47 games he racked up 3,862 all-purpose yards, 14 total touchdowns and finished his career with the second most kick return yards in school history with 1,919.

Zamort, 26, played 48 career games (2012-2015) at Western Michigan, recording 150 total tackles, six interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and 51 passes defended (51 ranks second all-time in NCAA history and first all-time in the MAC). Zamort was named second-team All-MAC in 2015 as a senior and third-team in 2014 as a junior.

The 5’10, 174-pound defensive back from Del Ray, Florida most recently spent time with the Arizona Cardinals in 2016 and 2017 after being signed by the club in May of 2016.
