Argos add INT LB Jeff Knox Jr.

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced today the signing of International LB Jeff Knox Jr. 

Knox Jr, 26, signed with Saskatchewan in 2015 and went on to have an All-Star season, racking up 112 tackles, good for second in the league, 10 special teams tackles, one interception and two fumble recoveries in 18 games. The 6’2, 225-pound linebacker played 17 games the following year, amassing 65 tackles, 19 special teams tackles, one sack, and two fumble recoveries. After the 2016 CFL campaign, Knox Jr. signed with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, spending training camp with the team. After being released by the Bucs, Knox Jr. re-joined Saskatchewan in Week 8, playing the rest of the season, compiling 23 tackles, seven special teams tackles and one sack in eight games. The native of Pittsburgh, PA resigned with Tampa Bay after the season, was released and signed by the Washington Redskins and most recently spent time with the Tennessee Titans to the conclusion of their preseason.

The California University of Pennsylvania alum, played four seasons for the Vulcans, spending time at both running back and defensive back. In 43 games, Knox Jr. rushed for 992 yards and 24 touchdowns while adding 118 tackles and 7.5 sacks on the defensive end.
