TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced today that the team has signed international wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp and international linebacker Shakiel Randolph.

Westerkamp, 23, had one of the most productive careers in Nebraska history as a receiver, finishing as one of four pass-catchers in school history with 2,000+ yards. The 6-0, 207-pound native of Lombard, Illinois, played in 49 games for the Cornhuskers, starting 16. He ranks second in school history in receptions (167), 100-yard receiving games (8), and consecutive games with a reception (36), and finished his collegiate career ranked fourth in receiving yards (2,474) and receiving touchdowns (18).

Westerkamp grabbed headlines at Nebraska with highlight-reel catches, including a game-winning Hail Mary touchdown catch against Northwestern and a behind-the-back reception against Florida Atlantic that was named ESPN’s College Football Play of the Year in 2014. The two-time All-Big Ten selection spent time with the Miami Dolphins following his time at Nebraska.

Randolph, 23, played 40 games, starting 29, in four seasons at Southern Methodist University. Playing both linebacker and defensive back, the 6-3, 213-pound native of Waco, Texas, compiled 110 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, two fumble recoveries, 16 pass deflections and one interception with the Mustangs.

Following his collegiate career, the 2012 C-USA All-Freshman selection spent time with the Washington Redskins and Kansas City Chiefs. In four NFL preseason games with the Chiefs, he recorded three defensive tackles at strong safety.
