As the Toronto Argonauts return from the team’s first bye week, the club announced the hiring of Jonathan Himebauch as an offensive line coach.

Himebauch returns to the Argos where he was most recently the team’s Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Line Coach in 2015. The hiring also reunites Himebauch with Head Coach Marc Trestman. The two coached together from 2009-2011 in Montreal where they won two Grey Cups (2009, 2010). During those three seasons, the Alouettes ranked tied for second in the CFL in sacks allowed over that span.

The former USC Trojan has also spent time coaching the offensive line in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders (2003) and Edmonton Eskimos (2014). While away from the CFL, Himebauch coached the offensive line in the NCAA at UNLV (2004), San Diego State (2006-2008), Wake Forest (2012-2013), and most recently Nevada (2016). The former CFL and NFL player was also the Head Coach at Harvard-Westlake School.

Earlier this season, Himebauch had the opportunity to work with the Argos’ current group of offensive linemen during training camp when he attended as a guest coach. He coached both Chris Van Zeyl and Tyler Holmes during his previous stretch with the club.
