Argonauts.ca Staff |

Toronto – Argos Football, presented by Desjardins, will be back at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. ET. Toronto will host the Montreal Alouettes in an important divisional match for the playoff-bound Double Blue.

The 9-6 Argonauts will finish no lower than third place in the East Division and have already punched their ticket to the 103rd Grey Cup Playoffs. The road warriors still have their sights set on finishing first in the East Division but need a win this week to keep pace with Hamilton and Ottawa. Star first-year receiver Tori Gurley scored his league-leading tenth touchdown of the season last week against Calgary in spectacular fashion. While in tight coverage he snared the ball, thrown by QB Trevor Harris, over his shoulder while falling to the turf in the endzone. The defence was led by LB Thomas Miles whose eight tackles was good for most on the team.

In a game presented by The Toronto Sun, the Argonauts will welcome Juno-nominated country star Tim Hicks whowill delight the crowd at halftime with hit songs Underdog as well as Young, Alive and In Love.

It’s the Argos’ CFL Pink game and joining halftime will be members of the Alumni Cheerleaders. Through their performance, the team will help raise awareness for women’s cancers. Argos Pink merchandise will be on-sale throughout the game, and online at ArgosShop.ca. Following the game, signed game-used CFL Pink balls will be auctioned to fans. A portion of money raised will benefit Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

During pre-game, fans will be asked to salute the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families. 45 members of our military, representing the Army, Navy and Air Force will be on the field. The Navy Flag Party from the HMCS Star in Hamilton will be present. Petty Officer Second Class Mark Nelson from the HMCS York will perform the national anthem. Coin toss will be handled by Lieutenant General Michael Hood. A special military coin will be used for the coin toss.
