Returning to the grounds that the Double Blue called home for more than 50 years, the game will mark the second consecutive season the Argonauts have played pre-season football at Varsity Stadium. The occasion also marks the first time since 1958 that Toronto and Hamilton have played each other at Varsity Stadium.

Argos fans won’t want to miss seeing their hometown stars live for the first time in 2014. New man in the middle and former CFL All-Star, LB Shea Emry will lead the defence. QB Ricky Ray and SB Chad Owens continue to dazzle in training camp, and the battle in the backfield for the starting running back position is red hot.  QB Zach Collaros, who led the Argos to a CFL record four consecutive road victories in 2013, makes his return to Toronto as a member of the Ticats. Toronto is 1-0 in pre-season action in 2014 after beating the Blue Bombers 24-22 last week in Winnipeg. The club has not lost a pre-season game since 2010 (7-0 record).

Toronto pop sensation Farahri will sing the national anthem. The local female vocalist has recently performed at the Miss World Canada finale and released her new track entitled, ‘Take Me As I Am’.  President of the University of Toronto Meric Gertler will be part of the ceremonial coin toss prior to kickoff.

During the game, fans will be entertained and educated by a series of short videoboard vignettes showcasing the history of the Argonauts.  Halftime will feature a special performance by the 2014 Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun. Argos fans can also expect the Argonotes to be in mid-season form as they return for another season. Brand new 2014 Argonauts merchandise will be for sale on the main concourse.
