Argos Re-sign Wr Sammy Tranks

MISSISSAUGA – The Toronto Argonauts announced today that import WR Sammy Tranks has been signed to the club’s practice roster. Tranks, who played three games with the Argos in 2011, will be on the field with the rest of his teammates at this morning’s practice. 

Tranks attended 2012 Argonauts training camp before being released on June 20.  In 2011, he started three games at wide receiver for the Double Blue and averaged just over 10 yards per catch with one touchdown. He ended the year with 7 catches for 71 yards and a major. 

He played four seasons (2006-09) at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He finished his career there with 136 receptions for 1,896 yards and 18 touchdowns, 55 punt returns for 732 yards and 5 touchdowns, and 124 kickoff returns for 2,752 yards and 2 touchdowns. 

The club also announced today that import WR Demario Ballard and non-import DL Akeel Lendor have been removed from the club’s practice roster.
