Argonauts.ca To Give Fans Complete Online Draft Experience

MISSISSAUGA – The Toronto Argonauts hold six picks overall in next Thursday’s CFL Canadian Draft, among the most for any team. For the first time ever, the Argonauts are allowing fans in on all of the action and inviting them to watch every pick via live web cam at argonauts.ca. Fans will also be invited to live chat with General Manager Jim Barker the day before the draft, and be privy to even more access before, during and after the event by visiting the club’s online community.

Leading into the 2012 Draft, argonauts.ca will have all of your draft needs covered including Draft Day Rewind footage, editorial features and more. On Wednesday, May 2, fans can log on to argonauts.ca at 12:30 p.m. and engage in a live online fan chat with GM Jim Barker. On draft day, fans will then be invited to peek into the team’s actual draft room via live video stream (no audio). While there, they can follow the entire draft live, learn more about their newest Canadian Double Blue players, and even watch an interview with one of the team’s first picks. Fans are also invited to visit the team’s social media community on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ which will be packed with more exclusive content and behind-the-scenes fun!

The 2012 CFL Canadian Draft will take place on Thursday, May 3 at 3:00 p.m. ET. The first two rounds of the draft will be televised live on TSN and fans will be able to watch live coverage of the rest of the draft on TSN.ca

On December 17, 2011, the Toronto Argonauts sent shockwaves across the CFL when they traded their first pick (second overall), QB Steven Jyles and K Grant Shaw to the Edmonton Eskimos for two-time Grey Cup champion QB Ricky Ray. The Argonauts acquired their second fourth-round pick when they traded non-import DB Delroy Clarke to the Edmonton Eskimos in 2011. Toronto acquired its second sixth-round pick when they traded non-import TE/SB Steve Schmidt to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2010.
