TORONTO — At a launch event today at the Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Toronto, the 100th Grey Cup Festival Committee named Rick Brace, President, Specialty Channels and CTV Production, Bell Media, and Anatol von Hahn, Group Head, Canadian Banking, Scotiabank, co-chairs of the 100th Grey Cup Festival, coming to Toronto in 2012.

“We are thrilled to have two such influential, passionate, and creative members of the national business community as our co-chairs,” said Chris Rudge, Chairman & CEO, 100th Grey Cup Festival.

“I had the pleasure of working with Anatol on the Toronto 2015 Pan Am bid where he played a key role in winning the Games for Toronto.  Rick brings a wealth of experience to the 100th Grey Cup Festival and was a key leader on the team that hosted the 2007 Grey Cup in Toronto,” he added.

“These two leaders will help us mobilize the business, media and fan communities to help realize the vision of staging a festival that invites Canadians across our nation to a celebration of sport, culture and Canadian pride.”

“The 100th Grey Cup Festival is not just about football,” said Rick Brace. “It’s about bringing Canadians together to celebrate an annual institution and our incredible country.  It will resonate from coast to coast in a way that hasn’t been seen since the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

“It is an honour for me to be part of the team.”

“I am thrilled to serve as co-chair of the 100th Grey Cup Festival and encourage my colleagues in the business community to get involved and show their support for a world-class event and piece of Canadian history,” said Anatol von Hahn.

“The Grey Cup is a premier sporting event that shines a spotlight on its host community, and this milestone Grey Cup Festival will bring the national spotlight to Toronto, uniting fans from coast to coast in celebration of a sport loved by Canadians.”

The 100th Grey Cup Festival, to be held in Toronto in 2012, is an Invitation to Our Nation, uniting Canadians from coast-to-coast in Toronto for a nine-day, ten-night festival encompassing over 50 events ranging from traditional team parties, galas and player awards to a football film festival and family fun zone at great venues including the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and Yonge-Dundas Square.

Complete with street closures, entertainment and activities, the 100th Grey Cup is a sport and cultural celebration like none before. The 100th Grey Cup will be played on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Rogers Centre.
