The Argonauts announced today that the club has signed linebackers Trevonti Barber and Terrance Plummer.
Barber, a 6-1, 233-pound native of Colquitt, Georgia, played in 47 games at Middle Tennessee State, starting in 41 consecutive contests to finish his career with the Blue Raiders. In four seasons, the two-time First Team All-C-USA selection tallied 323 tackles (213 solo, 110 assisted), 34 tackles for a loss of 124 yards, eight quarterback sacks, seven interceptions, six forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. He finished his career at MTSU ranked fourth in school history in both total tackles and tackles for a loss.
Plummer, a 6-1, 241-pound, native of West Palm Beach, Florida, arrives in Toronto after spending time with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings and Washington Redskins. The 2013 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl MVP and first-team All-ACC selection registered 334 tackles (177 solo, 154 assisted), 30.5 tackles for a loss of 104 yards, 6.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and 18 pass knockdowns in four seasons at Central Florida.
