Argos to the EX

The Toronto Argonauts are excited to announce that a ticket to an Argos game on Saturday, August 20 or Wednesday, August 31 includes free admission to the Canadian National Exhibition.

“I remember as a kid coming down to the CNE and catching an Argos game at Exhibition Stadium and having a blast,” said Michael Copeland, Argonauts’ President and CEO. “Whether it’s this Saturday, or Wednesday, August 31st, this is a great opportunity to come with family or friends to check out the Argos at BMO Field and the CNE.”

The Argos (4-3), who currently sit in second place in the East Division, take on the Grey Cup champion Edmonton Eskimos (3-4) this Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00pm.

In coordination with the CNE and the Warrior’s Day Parade, Saturday’s Argos game will honour the Canadian Armed Forces with Major General Tammy Harris participating in the ceremonial coin toss prior to the game. The singing of O’Canada will be performed by Sergeant Daryl Casselman from the Canadian Army, who will be accompanied by a Flag Party from 8 Wing stationed in Trenton, Ontario. Following the national anthem there will be a flyover from a CF-18 Hornet from Canadian Forces Base Bagotville.

The 95th Annual Warriors’ Day Parade will be taking place at the CNE beginning at 10:30am.

Saturday’s matinee game will also feature the Toronto Argonauts Junior Cheerleaders performing a routine they rehearsed with the Argos Cheerleaders at halftime. All members of the Argos Kids Club will have the opportunity to meet some of their favourite Argonauts on-field following the game.

On Wednesday, August 31st, the Argos welcome the BC Lions to BMO Field for a 7:30pm kickoff.
