College: Attended University of Guelph (2014-17). Played 28 regular season and 6 playoff games. Recorded 124.5 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the regular season. Recorded 27 tackles, and ½ sack in the playoffs. Had 5.5 tackles and ½ sack in 2015 Mitchell Bowl loss to Montreal. Member of 2015 Yates Cup champions.
Personal: Attended St. Edmond Campion in Brampton. Born in Lagos, Nigeria. Comes from an incredibly talented football family; his younger brother John Metchie III starred at Alabama as a receiver and is eligible for the 2022 NFL Draft, brother Miles played linebacker at Guelph, while brother Leon played defensive back at St. Mary’s. The family lived in Nigeria, Ghana and Taiwan before moving to Canada.
