Acquired: Signed as a free agent March 10, 2017.

2018: Played in 13 games, started all 13 before suffering a season-ending injury at Calgary on September 28th. Rushed for 691 yards, added another 396 receiving yards. Caught his first CFL TD pass as a part of the Argos incredible fourth quarter comeback win against Ottawa on August 2nd. Had a 120-yard rushing day against Edmonton on July 7th.

2017: Played 17 games, started 10. Rushed for 872 yards and five TDs on 122 carries. Caught 51 passes for 533 yards. Made CFL debut Week One vs Hamilton. Made his first start September 16 against Edmonton and rushed for 190 yards, the fourth highest rushing game in Argos history. In the next game against Montreal he scored a TD on an 85-yard run, the longest of the season in the CFL. Was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie. Playoffs: Started in the East Final against Saskatchewan. Rushed for 52 yards and added 52 receiving yards. Caught a pass on a crucial third down play to set up the game-winning TD. 105th Grey Cup: Started in win over Calgary. Rushed for 13 yards and a touchdown, caught two passes for 18 yards.

2016: Signed with the Buffalo Bills on January 20, released September 2.

2015: Re-signed by Cincinnati Bengals January 14. Released and signed to the practice roster September 6.

2014: Entered the NFL draft as a junior. Signed as an undrafted free agent by Cincinnati May 12, released and signed to the practice roster August 31.

College: Played in 39 games over three seasons at Florida State University. Rushed for 1,363 yards and 20 TDs. Rushed for 11 touchdowns and added two more though the air as a sophomore. Scored two TDs in 2012 ACC Championship game and was named MVP. Named Honourable Mention All-ACC in 2013. Played on Seminoles 2013 National Championship team.

Personal: His father James Sr. was a star running back in the NFL and is the leading rusher in the history of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Junior starred at H.B. Plant High School in Tampa, Florida, leading the team to a 5A state title.  He was one of the highest-ranked high school players in the country, both as a running back and a linebacker.
