Kierrie Johnson – Wide Receivers Coach
The former CFL receiver returns to the league to coach that positional group with the Argos.
Johnson arrived in BC after wrapping up his collegiate career with the Houston Cougars, winning a Grey Cup as a rookie in 2011, a game in which he caught his first CFL touchdown pass on a 66-yard bomb from Travis Lulay. He’d play in Saskatchewan and Ottawa before joining the Argos forthe first half of the 2015 season, winning a second Grey Cup with the Riders in 2013.
The Houston native began his coaching career at St. Thomas High School in his hometown, working with both the varsity and junior varsity teams. He held several positions over his tenure, including head coach, offensive coordinator, receivers coach, and returners coach.
Johnson also spent a season as the running backs coach at Simon Fraser University.
He’s worked at the youth level with student athletes since 2019 as the executive director with T.R.U. Diamond University, a youth sports organization, and since 2023 has been the owner of Inspire and Develop Athletics, a group that, among other things, exposes young athletes to flag football.
