Justin Poindexter – Running Backs Coach

Returning for his third season with the Argos, Poindexter will be coaching the running backs this season after holding the dual portfolio of Offensive Quality Control and Assistant Offensive Line Coach for two seasons.

He made his way to the CFL after two years with the Cleveland Browns where he served as a game charter.

Poindexter had acted as a Recruiting Assistant at Northwestern after previous NCAA stops at Southern, where he coached the tight ends, and Howard, his alma mater, where he worked with tight ends and the offensive line.

The Chicago native’s first coaching job was at Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C., again working with the offensive line.

Anxious to learn all aspects of the game, he worked as an intern with the Big Ten Conference, learning the finer points of Championship Game logistics, and working with the conference’s officials.

Poindexter earned two degrees at Howard, a bachelor’s degree in sports management, and a master’s degree in educational administration and policy.
