The high-energy coach brings a championship pedigree and a boatload of enthusiasm to Toronto.

Bell became a coach after spending 10 seasons as a player in the NFL with San Diego, Denver and Green Bay, then in the CFL with B.C and Calgary.

He retired as a Stampeder player on February 1, 2018 and became their defensive backs coach the same day. He’d coach for two seasons in Calgary before joining the Argos in 2021.

Bell returned to Toronto in 2022 after leaving the team in mid-2021 for personal reasons.

The former defensive back is in rare company, having won both a Grey Cup ring (Calgary) and a Super Bowl ring (Green Bay) as a player. He added another CFL championship as a coach with the Stamps, then won yet another title last season with the Argos.

He was the CFL West Division all-star safety in 2015.

The Dallas native played his college football in-state at Baylor.
