Fred Reid – Running Backs Coach

A star running back with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Reid returns to the CFL to share his expertise.

The Tampa native burst onto the football scene while playing at Mississippi State. He graduated as the leading kick returner in SEC history.

After a year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and another in an arena league, Reid headed to Canada where he’d make a huge impact. He arrived in 2007 and over the next five seasons he was named an All-Star three times.

He’s the sixth-leading rusher in Bomber history and is most remembered for one of the best nights a CFL running back has ever experienced. In a game against the B.C. Lions on August 21, 2009 Reid carried the ball 26 times for 260 yards, the third highest single-game total in league history.

After his playing days wrapped up, he started a family business, then returned to football as the head coach at Middleton High School in the Tampa area. He spent five seasons there before joining the Argos.
