Week 20 – Who’s in, Who’s out

Here are the roster changes for this week’s game against the Ottawa Redblacks on Fan Appreciation Day. A reminder that the depth chart lists the starters, but there is much player movement once the game starts. One player will also be scratched from the lineup before the game begins.

McLeod Bethel-Thompson gets the start at QB. He threw for 342 yards with two TDs and no interceptions last week in Montreal. He currently leads the CFL with 24 touchdown passes, and is third in passing yards, just 174 shy of 4,000 for the season. James Franklin, Dakota Prukop and Michael O’Connor are also listed on the depth chart.

At running back both Chris Rainey and James Wilder Jr. will miss the game, with each being placed on the one-game injured list. AJ Oullette (pronounced O-LET, not ooh-LET) will get his first CFL start, with Declan Cross and Regis Cibasu at fullback.

There are no changes to the receiving corps. Chandler Worthy, who caught nine passes for 93 yards and his first CFL touchdown in Montreal, will again start for Derel Walker, who was again placed on the one-game injured list. S.J. Green, who needs just 20 yards for 1,000 this season, and Armanti Edwards, who is 174 yards shy of 1,000, will also start, as will Rodney Smith and Jimmy Ralph. The backups are Kurleigh Gittens Jr., Llevi Noel and Alex Charette.

The offensive line is also intact. The five starters from left to right are Randy Richards, Tyler Holmes, Sean McEwen, Ryan Bomben and Jamal Campbell. Shane Richards is the backup.

Likewise, there are no changes to the defensive line. Freddie Bishop III and Kennan Gilchrist are the ends, with Cleyon Laing and Jhaustin Thomas at tackle. The backups are Linden Gaydosh in the middle with Robbie Smith and Frank Beltre at end.

Qudarius Ford will start this week at the strong-side linebacker spot in place of Abdul Kanneh, who is on the one-game injured list. Eric Striker will be on the weak side, with Tobi Antigha in the middle. There are two new players in the lineup as backups. Cam Glenn and Jalin Burrell will both make their Double Blue debuts. Juwan Foggie, Nelkas Kwemo, Nakas Onyeka and Global player Christian Hernandez will also dress.

The secondary is also intact from a week ago, with Anthony Covington and Shaq Richardson on the corners, Robert Woodson and Trumaine Washington at halfback and Jermaine Gabriel will play safety. Alden Darby Jr. is off the injured list this week.

Tyler Crapigna will do the placekicking, Ronnie Pfeffer the punting, and Jake Reinhart the longsnapping.
