Week 17 at BC – Who’s in, Who’s out

Here are your weekly lineup changes for the Toronto Argonauts as they visit the B.C. Lions on Saturday night (10:00 ET, TSN, TSN 1050).

A reminder, these are the listed starters, and the personnel will be fluid once the game starts.

The quarterback group lines up the same way as it did against Saskatchewan. James Franklin will again get the start. McLeod Bethel-Thompson. Dakota Prukop and Michael O’Connor are listed as the backups. O’Connor won a Vanier Cup for the UBC Thunderbirds in 2015.

Chris Rainey returns to B.C. for the first time since joining the Argos as a free agent. He’ll backup James Wilder Jr. at running back, while Declan Cross and Regis Cibasu are the fullbacks.

The receiving corps is also the same. Two starters have a shot at milestones on Saturday, as Derel Walker needs just five yards for 1,000 this season, while more significantly, S.J. Green needs 95 yards to become the 18th player in CFL history to hit the 10,000-yard mark for his career. Armanti Edwards, Jimmy Ralph and Rod Smith are the other starters, while Kurleigh Gittens Jr. and Llevi Noel are the backups.

The offensive line is intact from a week ago. Randy Richards and Jamal Campbell are the tackles, Tyler Holmes and Ryan Bomben are the guards, while Sean McEwen is the centre. Shane Richards will be the backup.

Davon Coleman is another ex-Lion making his return to B.C. He’s part of a defensive line that sees no changes from last week. Coleman and Cleyon Laing are the tackles, starting ahead of Jhaustin Thomas and Linden Gaydosh. Freddie Bishop III and Kennan Gilchrist are the starting ends with Frank Beltre in the rotation.

Bear Woods is out of the lineup and on the six-game injured list. Ian Wild will move from the weak side to the middle, while Eric Striker, and All-American at Oklahoma, will start on the weak side. Nelkas Kwemo and Nakas Onyeka are behind Striker on the depth chart, while Sean Harrington, Global player Christian Hernandez and Juwan Foggie are in the middle. Foggie is making his CFL debut and is a cousin of former Argo and Lion quarterback Ricky Foggie.

Anthony Covington is back in the lineup, starting at boundary corner for Jonathon Mincy, who was injured last week in his Argos debut. Robert Woodson mans the other corner, with Qudarius Ford and Trumaine Washington at halfback. Alden Darby Jr. is the safety, with Matt Boateng and Jermaine Gabriel also in the lineup.

Tyler Crapigna, who needs just five field goals for 100 in his career, is the placekicker, Ronnie Pfeffer is the punter, the longsnapper is Jake Reinhart.
