Week 8 – Who’s in, Who’s out

McLeod Bethel-Thompson will once again get the start for the Argos. He threw for 388 yards and three touchdowns when the Argos played in Winnipeg three weeks ago. Dakota Prukop and Michael O’Connor will also dress at QB.

Brandon Burks will again start at running back for the injured James Wilder Jr. Chris Rainey will join him in the backfield along with fullback Regis Cibasu.

There are a couple of changes in the receiving corps this week. Armanti Edwards returns to the lineup, while Llevi Noel has been placed on the six-game injured list. He’ll be replaced by Kurleigh Gittens Jr., while Chandler Worthy moves to the practice roster with the return of Edwards. S.J. Green, Rodney Smith, Jimmy Ralph and Derel Walker start alongside Edwards. Walker caught nine passes for 188 yards and two TDs when the Argos met the Bombers in July. Alex Charette and Kimi Linnainmaa will also suit up.

Isiah Cage returns to start at left tackle after missing the Edmonton game. Will Campbell starts on the right side. The interior of the line is intact with Sean McEwen at centre, with Tyler Holmes and Ryan Bomben at guard. The backups are Jamal Campbell and D.J. Sackey. Roubbens Joseph returns to the P.R. with the return of Cage.

Shawn Lemon is back in the lineup and will start at one defensive end spot, with Freddie Bishop III on the other side. Cleyon Laing and Ken Bishop are the starting tackles. Linden Gaydosh will be in the rotation in the middle, Frank Beltre and Robbie Smith are on the outside. Tobi Antigha and Eric Striker have been placed on the one-game injured list.

Ian Wild has been removed from the six-game injured list and be back as the starting weak-side linebacker. That will move Micah Awe back to the middle, with Qudarius Ford at the strong-side spot. The backups are Justin Herman-Reed, Kennan Gilchrist, Nelkas Kwemo, Nakas Onyeka, and Sean Harrington.

In the secondary Robert Woodson will get the start at safety with Matt Webster backing him up. The cornerbacks are Matt Boateng and Alden Darby Jr., who has two interceptions and a fumble recovery in the last three games. Abdul Kanneh and former Bomber Kevin Fogg are the halfbacks with Jonathan Dowling also in the mix.

Tyler Crapigna will do the placekicking, Zack Medeiros the punting, while Joe Spaziani will do the long snapping.

A reminder that the Shipyard opens at 5:00. Beer will be available for $5, hot dogs for $3. This game is a part of the Thursday Night Concert Series and Classified will be performing at halftime.
