Week 5 – Who’s in, Who’s Out

The Argos have made several changes to the lineup after last week’s heart-breaking loss to B.C.

McLeod Bethel-Thompson once again gets the start at QB. He was 8/8 for 102 yards in the first quarter against the Lions, finishing with 303 passing yards, one touchdown and one pick. M B-T also led them to the game tying TD in the game’s final minute. He’ll be backed up by Dakota Prukop and Michael O’Connor.

James Wilder Jr. is the starting running back. He finished with 109 combined yards from scrimmage and scored the last-minute TD. Chris Rainey will back him up, while Brandon Burks will also dress for the first time this season. Regis Cibasu is the fullback.

There is just one change in the receiving corps as Global player Kimi Linnainmaa returns to the lineup, with Kurleigh Gittens Jr. moving back to the practice roster.

The offensive line is exactly the same as it was for the Lions game.

On defence Frank Beltre has been inserted into the lineup and will start at one of the defensive end spots. He’s in for Shawn Lemon, who has been placed on the one-game injured list.

At linebacker Sean Harrington and Global player Christian Hernandez are out, both placed on the P.R. Kennan Gilchrist makes his CFL debut, listed as the third MLB behind Micah Awe and Winnipeg native Justin Herdman-Reed.

There’s one change in the secondary as Robert Woodson is back from injury. He’ll back up Matt Webster at safety. Caleb Ham has been moved to the P.R.

There’s a significant change on special teams, as kicker Tyler Crapigna was re-signed after Drew Brown was released.
