Week 4 – Who’s in, Who’s out

The most notable change this week is at quarterback. James Franklin has been placed on the six-game injured list meaning McLeod Bethel-Thompson gets the start. It has also elevated third-round draft pick Mike O’Connor into the third spot on the depth chart behind Dakota Prukop. It will be the UBC product’s first CFL game.

Also making his pro debut will be the man selected three spots behind O’Connor, receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr. out of Laurier. He’s in for Global player Kimi Linnainmaa.

In the backfield Declan Cross has been placed on the six-game injured list. Rookie Regis Cibasu will be the starting fullback.

On the offensive line Isiah Cage will once again start at left tackle, with Will Campbell behind him on the depth chart.

There are just two changes on the defensive side of the ball. Sean Harrington, a final cut at training camp, he was brought back this week and will play special teams. The back-up linebacker is in for John Biewald, who has been placed on the six-game injured list.

And making his CFL debut will be Global player Christian Hernandez, the Argos third-round pick in the CFL-LFA Draft. He’s a linebacker who could see action on special teams.

A couple of reminders. The lineup can be fluid once the game starts, and being placed on the six-game injured list is often precautionary as a player can be activated after missing only one game. As an example, right guard Ryan Bomben was placed on the six-game list to start the season, but was activated for last week’s game against Saskatchewan.

Off The Field

The Shipyard will open its doors at 5:00 once again, but the area has been expanded and additional beer outlets will be added so you can enjoy a cold $5 beer in a more expedient manner.

You can now order concessions from your seat! By downloading the free Argos app you’ll have access to food and beverage without having to line up. Simply place your order on the app, have some photo ID ready, and you can order a full-priced beer, mixed drink, wine, water, or snacks such as pizza or popcorn.

One note, if you want to enjoy the $5 beer you’ll have to visit one of the 25 locations around BMO Field for that. It’s not available via the app.

Don’t forget it’s Family Day! Visit Argonauts.ca or the Argos app and find out how you can bring a child 12 or under to the game for free. There will be appearances by Iron Man, Spider-Man, Paw Patrol and stars from the Family Channel.
