TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts have signed National K/P Zach Medeiros through 2020, National QB Noah Picton through 2021, and International WR Cole Watson through 2020.

Medeiros, 28, joined the Argonauts in July of 2018 after spending time with the Montreal Alouettes during the preseason and being released in June. The St. Thomas native played in 11 games for the Double Blue and was successful on 11 of 15 field goals while punting the ball 59 times for an average of 46.1, third best in the CFL. Medeiros was originally drafted in the sixth round of the 2013 CFL Draft by the Edmonton Eskimos but chose to return to U Sports football after attending training camp with the club. The kicker who started his University career with the Montreal Carabins and finished at home with the Western Mustangs also spent time with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2016 playing in 13 games and winning a Grey Cup.

Picton, 23, finished his career with the University of Regina Rams (2013-2018) as one of the most prolific passers in U Sports history. The 5’9, 180-pound QB became the U Sports All-Time leader in passing yards this season after throwing for 11, 494 yards in his career. The local Regina product also places second in U Sports history in pass completions (835) and seventh in touchdown passes (71). Picton was named a U Sports First-Team All-Canadian and a Canda West All-Star in 2017 but 2016 proved to be the year Picton broke out. That year saw the QB win the Hec Creighton Trophy as U Sports Player of the Year, the Frank Gnup Award as Canada West Player of the Year and he was named a First-Team All-Canadian and Canada West All-Star again. Picton spent training camp with the Argos in 2018 but was released before the season.

Watson, 24, returns to Toronto after spending the last two training camps with the club. The Conway, South Carolina native caught three passes for 52 yards in one preseason game this season after catching seven for 64 yards in two games during the 2017 preseason. The 5’11, 165-pound WR attended Newberry College in South Carolina where he recorded 115 catches for 1,412 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 403 yards on 46 punt returns across four seasons (2013-2016). Watson was named First-Team All-SAC and ALL- ECAC as a senior.
