Argos sign two international receivers

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced today that the team has signed international receivers Tobais Palmer and Kendall Sanders.

Palmer, 28, joins the Argos after spending time professionally with the Montreal Alouettes, Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Chargers, New Orleans Saints, and Jacksonville Jaguars. The 5-11, 175-pound native of Pittsboro, North Carolina, played in one regular-season game with the Jaguars are signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2013. In two seasons at North Carolina State, the Georgia Military College transfer hauled in 91 passes for 1,277 yards and 11 touchdowns while rushing for 60 yards on seven carries. He also returned 47 kickoffs for 1,172 yards and two return touchdown for the Wolfpack. In 2012, Palmer led the ACC with 1,124 kickoff return yards and two kickoff return touchdowns.

Sanders, 23, returns to the team after making his CFL debut with the Argos during the 2017 season. In one start, the 6-0, 189-pound native of Athens, Texas, was targeted twice and caught one pass for one yard. In one season at Arkansas State, the University of Texas transfer caught 38 passes for 553 yards and seven touchdowns. Sanders’ seven touchdown receptions in 2016 was a team-high and led the Sun Belt Conference.
