The Toronto Argonauts announced today that the team has re-signed international defensive lineman Ken Bishop through the 2018 season.

Bishop, 29, started 15 games in his first season with the Argos in 2016 but was limited to five games and four starts in 2017 due to injury.

The 6-0, 306-pound native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has racked up 37 defensive tackles, three sacks, one quarterback pressure, and two pass knockdowns in 21 games in Double Blue. Prior to signing with the Argos, he spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, where he recorded four tackles in five games after being selected in the seventh round (251st overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Bishop played two seasons (2012-13) at Northern Illinois University after transferring from Ellsworth Community College. The 2013 consensus first-team All-MAC selection totaled 125 tackles, 16.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks and two interceptions in 27 games at NIU. In two seasons at Ellsworth, he played 20 games, posting 131 tackles, five sacks, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup.
