Argos add DB Alden Darby to practice roster

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced today that the club has added international defensive back Alden Darby to the practice roster.
Darby, a 5-11, 195-pound native of Long Beach, California, arrives in Toronto having spent the last three seasons in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, and Indianapolis Colts.
In 50 games over four seasons at Arizona State, the two-time All-Pac-12 selection notched 217 tackles (155 solo, 62 assisted), 8.5 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. He was also a dangerous pass defender, recording 10 interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns, and 26 pass knockdowns with the Sun Devils.
The Argonauts also announced today that the club has released international receiver Jamel Johnson.
