TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts have signed Canadian OL Jeff Perrett and WR Kyle Graves, the club announced today.
Perrett, a 6-7, 320-pound native of Lethbridge, Alberta, comes to Toronto in 2017 after spending the last 10 seasons of his career with the Montreal Alouettes, who selected him in the third round (24th overall) of the 2006 CFL Draft. The 2015 East Division All-Star and Most Outstanding Lineman, and two-time Grey Cup champion played 166 regular season games over his 10 seasons with the Als.
Perrett was also recognized for his leadership and courage following the 2015 season as he was the recipient of the CFL’s Jake Gaudaur Veterans Trophy.
Graves, a 6-3, 220-pound native of Barrie, Ontario, spent the last three seasons with the Montreal Alouettes. In 34 games with the Als, he caught two passes for 19 yards and tallied a number of special teams tackles.
The former Acadia product originally entered the League as a quarterback with the Alouettes in 2012. After electing to return to school for his final year of CIS eligibility, he re-signed with the Alouettes in 2013 and transitioned to receiver. As a quarterback with the Axemen, he finished his CIS career as Acadia’s third all-time leading passer with 5,433 yards, second in passing completions (418), and fourth in passing touchdowns (39).
Both Perrett and Graves were members of Alouettes under the watch of the Argonauts newly hired General Manager Jim Popp. Perrett played for Marc Trestman from 2008-12 and won back-to-back Grey Cup championships in 2009-10.
