Toronto Argonauts newly appointed head coach Marc Trestman and his staff will get their first opportunity to take the field with rookies and veteran players ahead of the 2017 CFL season at the team’s three-day mini-camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

The mini-camp will take place from Tuesday, April 25 to Thursday, April 27 and will include on-field practices and meetings. Veteran players, excluding specialists and a selection of lineman, will attend the mini-camp alongside rookies who are under contract.

Top performers from the team’s open tryout held at IMG Academy on Monday, April 24, will also be selected to attend the mini-camp.

This will mark the third consecutive year that the club has hosted their mini-camp at IMG Academy. Current Argos who have made their marks at mini-camps in years past include wide receiver Devon Wylie, quarterback Cody Fajardo, and defensive backs Aaron Berry and Joe Rankin.

Wylie, who stood out at last year’s mini-camp in Bradenton, appeared in 13 games, starting three, in his 2016 rookie season with the Argos. With limited reps on offence, the Fresno State product hauled in 14 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown while bringing in a team-high 88% of his targets. Wylie ranked fifth on the team in total yards and led the Argos with 485 kickoff return yards on 26 returns.
