SIGNING: Argos add Brooks, Jacobs and Wilder Jr.

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced Tuesday that the team has signed international defensive backs Cariel Brooks and Tramain Jacobs as well as international running back James Wilder Jr.

Brooks, a 5-10, 200-pound native of Miami Gardens, Florida, joins the Argos after spending time with the Arizona Cardinals. He played in three games for the Cardinals in 2015, recording one tackle in his debut. In two seasons at Adams State, the Pasadena City College transfer totalled 59 tackles, one tackle for a loss, five interceptions and 17 pass breakups in 21 games.

Jacobs, a 5-11, 182-pound native of Covington, Louisiana, signs with the team following stints with the New York Giants, Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens. A JUCO transfer from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Jacobs recorded 55 tackles, two tackles for a loss, 13 pass deflections, one interception and a fumble recovery in 26 games across two seasons for Texas A&M.

Wilder Jr., a 6-2, 229-pound native of Tampa Bay, Florida, has spent time with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals following a three-year collegiate career at Florida State University. A two-time ACC Champion and 2014 BCS National Champion at Florida State, Wilder rushed for 1,363 yards and 20 touchdowns on 226 carries (6.0 ypc) for the Seminoles. The Offensive MVP of the 2012 ACC Championship game added 182 yards and two touchdowns on 24 receptions in 39 career games at FSU.
