Argos mourn loss of former All-Star Ellinson Kelly

The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of former OL Ellison Kelly, who passed away on February 11, 2016 at the age of 80.
Kelly played two seasons (1971-72) with the Toronto Argonauts after spending the bulk of his CFL career with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1960-70). The 6-3, 250-pound native of Butler, Georgia was a versatile offensive lineman that helped guide the 1971 Argonauts to an Eastern Conference title and an appearance in the 59th Grey Cup.

The former Michigan State Spartan was an eight-time Eastern All-Star and four-time All-Canadian. Kelly, the winner of three Grey Cup Championships, was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1992.
Prior to making his first appearance in the CFL in 1960 with the Tiger-Cats, Kelly spent one season with the NFL’s New York Giants after being selected by the team in the fifth round (59th overall) of the 1959 NFL Draft.
