Argos Mourn the Loss of Doug “Tank” Landry

TORONTO – Today the Toronto Argonauts express their sincere condolences for the loss of retired linebacker Doug “Tank” Landry, who passed away at the age of 51 on June 8.

An alumnus of Louisiana Tech, Landry played five years in the CFL and spent parts of the 1987 and 1988 seasons in Double Blue. During his CFL career he also suited up for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, B.C. Lions, and Calgary Stampeders.

Landry’s greatest moment as an Argonaut came in the 1987 Grey Cup, when he recovered an Edmonton Eskimos fumble and returned it 54 yards to the end zone for the touchdown.

Landry is remembered by his wife, Patrina Fontenette-Landry, his sons DeSean Landry and Ashton Soerensen, and his brother Percy Landry. Those wishing to pay their respects to “Tank” can do so at his obituary page here.
