Argos Sign CFL Draft Pick Daryl Waud and Former Alabama QB Blake Sims

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today that the team has signed another 2015 CFL Draft pick, defensive lineman Daryl Waud as well as international quarterback Blake Sims.

Waud, the 12th overall pick in the 2015 CFL Draft earlier this month, recently attended mini-camp with the NFL’s Washington Redskins. The 6-5, 270-pound Hamilton, Ontario native registered 75 defensive tackles, 8.5 quarterback sacks and one interception returned for a touchdown in 29 games over four seasons with the Western Mustangs. The three-time CIS All-Canadian and first-team OUA All-Star participated in both the NCAA’s East-West Shrine Game in January and the 2015 CFL Combine in March.

Sims, a 6-0, 208-pound native of Gainesville, Georgia, recently attended rookie mini-camp with the NFL’s Washington Redskins. The Alabama alum capped off his NCAA career completing 252 of 391 passing attempts (64.5%) for 3,487 passing yards and 28 touchdowns en route to leading the Crimson Tide to a 2014 SEC Championship and an appearance in the inaugural NCAA College Football Playoff.

The Argonauts also announced today that the club has released international OL Chris Faulk.
