Toronto Argonauts Host “when The Game Stands Tall” Movie Screening

On Friday, August 13th the Toronto Argonauts Football Club had the unique opportunity to host the official pre-screening of When the Game Stands Tall movie at the Scotiabank Theatre, courtesy of Sony Pictures Canada. Argos players, alumni, cheerleaders and office staff joined nearly 200 minor football players, coaches and community partners to celebrate the sport that has touched all our lives.

When the Game Stands Tall encompasses the true values and themes that are the very foundation of the Toronto Argonauts’ community programs, specifically Level the Playing Field, presented by Tim Hortons. The movie brings to life the incredible winning streak of  De La Salle High School’s football team: 151 straight victories over 12 years. While Coach Bob Ladouceur is building his seemingly invincible national powerhouse, he emphasizes purpose and significance rather than streaks and titles. He places little value on winning; instead he focuses on his players giving “perfect effort in life”.

The Toronto Argonauts and Sony Pictures would like to thank everyone who attended and hope this film will inspire our youth to “stand tall” and focus on the true meaning of teamwork.

The movie will be released on August 22, 2014.  Official Trailer is below!
