MISSISSAUGA — The Toronto Argonauts traded into the first round of the 2011 CFL Canadian Draft, acquiring the 7th overall pick from Saskatchewan. In exchange, the Boatmen sent the 12th overall (2nd Round) and 27th overall (4th Round) picks. With the pick, the Argonauts promptly selected futures prospect OL Tyler Holmes out of the University of Tulsa.

Commented Argonauts General Manager & Head Coach, Jim Barker, “We felt Tyler Holmes was the best offensive lineman on the board and that the teams ahead of us would be looking at the offensive line.  This trade gives us a chance to get the guy we wanted and fill our pipeline.”

Commented Argonauts’ Offensive Line Coach, Steve McAdoo, “Tyler is athletic and has all of the attributes and physical tools you want in an offensive lineman.  He has the ability to be versatile and play multiple positions.  We believe Tyler has the potential to be an important part of our future.”
