Argos Sign A Pair Of Picks From Oua Schools

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MISSISSAUGA – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is thrilled to announce that two of its 2010 CFL Canadian Draft picks, both from OUA schools, have signed with the club through the 2012 season. Michael Warner is a 300-pound offensive lineman who the Double Blue selected in the fifth round, 32nd overall, out of the University of Waterloo. LB/LS Conor Elliott was taken by Toronto in the sixth round, 44th overall, from the University of Western Ontario.

Warner, a civil engineering major at Waterloo, was twice named the Warriors’ Lineman of the Year. He was invited to the CFL’s annual Evaluation Camp in March of this year and grew up in Hamilton, Ontario.

Elliott, a life-long Argos fan, was named Second-Team CIS and an OUA All-Star as a senior for the Mustangs. Elliott played junior football for the London Falcons where he was a captain and a provincial MVP.

The Argos now have six 2010 draft picks (OT Joe Eppele, KR/WR Steven Turner, WR Spencer Watt, & DB/K Grant Shaw) under contract.  All six draft picks will take to the field on June 2 when Rookie Camp begins.
