Jalil is the son of Michelle Carter and lives in Ohio in the off-season. Prior to Akron, Jalil attended St. John’s Jesuit High School where he earned First-Team All-City League honours on offence as a senior and was a sprinter on the track team, placing 11th at the Division I state meet in the 100-meter dash as a senior.
