Brandon spends his off-season in his hometown of Blackville, South Carolina and enjoys playing pool and shooting hoops. He attended Blackville-Hilda High School, where was on the football team as well as an all-state basketball player. As a dual position senior on his team, he had 87 tackles and rushed for more than 1,000 yards and 16 touchdowns. He added to his illustrious career by throwing for more than 500 yards with seven touchdowns as a senior. In 2002, Brandon played in the South Carolina-North Carolina Shrine Bowl and was also named All-Area, All-Region and All-State in both football and basketball. Following his notable high school career, Brandon attended Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Georgia, where he continued his football career. At South Carolina, he was a major in the Criminal Justice Program.
