2002: Led the Argos in ST tackles with 19, ranking him fifth in the CFL in that category…he also led the team in fumble recoveries with four…backed up at linebacker and contributed 23 DT…led all Argo tacklers with 8 (5 defensive and 3 ST) in Toronto’s 24-8 win over Ottawa…made 1 DT in Toronto’s 24-14 East Semi-Final win over Saskatchewan on November 10…in the Argonauts’ 38-15 loss to Montreal in the East Final, made 2 DT and 2 ST tackles.
2001: Drafted by Toronto in the 4th Round (26th Overall) in the Canadian Draft…spent time with the Argonauts on both the practice and active roster during the season…played on July 4 against Montreal and had 2 tackles on ST and returned one kickoff for 11 yards…had 3 ST tackles in the Argos’ 50-24 win over Saskatchewan on July 28…on November 3 in Hamilton, had 1 ST tackle.
In his 4 years at Bucknell, Kevin started 33 of 43 games played at either strong or free safety…holds a number of school records, including sharing the single-game interception record of 4…2001 Tabbed an American Football Coaches Association All-American, a second team AP Division I-AA All-American, a first team All-Patriot League selection, a first team ECAC All-Star, the Patriot League’s Scholar-Athlete and the team’s MVP…2000 Led the Patriot League in with eight interceptions…1999 Received the Clarke Hinkle Award as the team’s “outstanding linebacker or defensive back.
Kevin owns and operates two personal training facilities in the Toronto area, SST Oakville and SST Milton (www.sstcanada.com). He is the son of Laraine and Larry Eiben of Delta, B.C. His father played strong safety at the University of Cincinnati and his uncle, George, played fullback at the University of Nebraska. His brother, L.J., was a third round draft choice of the Argonauts in 1996 and later played for the B.C. Lions. Eiben majored in business management and mastered in sports management in college where he was also a Dean’s List student and member of the Patriot League Academic Honour Roll. Kevin excelled as a dual sport athlete gaining All-American honours in football and Patriot league All-Star honours in baseball over his 4 year collegiate career. A gifted athlete, he lettered in football, basketball and baseball while attending Vancouver College High School. He was voted Provincial Offensive MVP in his senior season at QB and was a three-time all-league performer. Kevin also enjoys golfing, poker, fitness, real estate, travelling and skiing. He is engaged to Alison and has two dogs, Blade and Rex.
