JAIME ELIZONDO
Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach


Jaime Elizondo enters his second season with the Toronto Argonauts as Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach.  With a proven track record in the CFL, NFL and NCAA, Elizondo began his coaching career as a high school football coach in Rockville, MD on the defensive side of the ball.  Most recently, he was Wide Receivers Coach at Syracuse University where he coached Mike Williams, a Fred Blientikoff finalist for best receiver in college.  Prior to that, Jaime was the Wide Receivers/Assistant Special Teams Coach for the Montreal Alouettes in 2008, a team that had three all-star receivers in Ben Cahoon, Kerry Watkins and Jamel Richardson, had three receivers in the top 5 of the CFL in receiving yardage and went to the Grey Cup.  During his time in Montreal, the Alouettes led the CFL in total passing touchdowns, total yards and scoring.

In 2007, Elizondo joined the New Orleans Saints as Special Teams/Wide Receivers Assistant Coach in the NFL Minority Internship Program, from Hofstra University where he served as Wide Receivers/Special Teams Coach from 2004-2007.  At Hofstra, the Pride featured the Atlantic 10’s leading receiver each season and in 2007, ranked 6th nationally in punt return average.  There, Elizondo mentored Charles Sullivan, Marques Colston, Devale Ellis, Shaine Smith, Kyle Arrington and Khareem Huggins who all went on to successful careers in the NFL.

Jaime began his collegiate coaching career at Catholic University in 2001 before moving to William and Mary where he was Tight Ends/Special Teams Coach in 2002-2003.

Born in Aquascalientes, Mexico, Elizondo grew up in El Paso, Texas where he played football, baseball, soccer and tennis.   A physiology and neurobiology major, Elizondo was a three-year letterman on the Terrapin men’s tennis team at the University of Maryland.  Jaime completed law school in 2002 at the Washington College of Law at American University where he was a Dean’s fellow.
