Number of years as an Argonauts Cheerleader: Rookie
Where is your hometown/where do you currently live? Toronto
Why did you audition to be an Argos Cheerleader? I auditioned to be an Argos cheerleader for many reasons. Being a competitive dancer for six years, I have developed a passion for performing and entertaining and by being an Argos cheerleader, I would be able to fulfill these passions. I have always loved to cheer on my city’s sports teams and I was also very impressed to learn that the team wasn’t only about cheerleading and dancing, but also about being heavily involved in the community, which is something I would like the opportunity to participate in.
What has been your most embarrassing moment? At work, I was bringing food to one of our guests sitting in the bar. On my way to the table, the busser warned me, "Alessandra, be careful the floor is slippery, I just mopped it." Totally dismissing his words of caution, I continued towards the table and wiped out. To add insult to injury, I had sent pieces of the guests' Jumbalaya flying into the air which landed all over me. When I thought this moment could not get any worse, it was apparent that my performance was deserving of a standing ovation from other guests sitting in the bar. I had never been so embarrassed in my life!
10 years from now I’ll be… Working as a full-time school teacher and travelling to different parts of the world during my summer holidays.
My ‘perfect’ day would consist of… Waking up to breakfast served on my outdoor balcony, followed by a shopping spree at all my favourite stores. Afterwards, I would go to the beach to relax and catch some sun. The day would end with a night out on the town, for dinner and drinks with my friends.
Something no one knows about me is… I have a twin brother and I'm terrified of cats.
Anything else you’d like to tell fans about yourself? I'm a very social and optimistic person. I absolutely love teaching children, and having the opportunity to make a difference in their lives. I am also very devoted to my family and friends, and wouldn't be where I am today without them. I don't believe in having regrets in life, but rather being positive and moving forward by making the best out of every situation. I enjoy travelling, keeping active and healthy, and reminiscing and laughing with the people that mean the most to me.
