Andre currently resides in Burlington, Ontario and has two children, Malcolm (9), who has been diagnosed with autism, and Cian (7). He is the son of Melva Durie and has two older brothers named Wayne and Kyron and a younger sister named Brianna. He credits Kyron with introducing him to football. Nicknamed “Slick”, Andre spent the off-season working for Community Living Mississauga as a support worker and with the Children’s Aid Society. As a child, he idolized Michael “Pinball” Clemons, along with Michael Jordan and Emmett Smith. A member of the Mississauga Warriors of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) in 2001, Andre established a league record for rushing touchdowns (22) as well as rushing touchdowns in a single game (6). He also played at St. Joseph High School in Mississauga.
