Toronto - Toronto Argonauts fans happily watched as new QB Ricky Ray teamed up with all-star RB Cory Boyd to pick apart the Tiger-Cats’ defence during their first pre-season game of 2012, and now they will have a chance to meet Ray, Boyd and all of their heroes in Double Blue on June 23 for Toronto Argonauts Family Day, presented by the Toronto Sun!
Family Day provides the perfect chance for fans to get closer to the team that is preparing to kickoff the 2012 regular season and compete to be in the 100th Grey Cup championship right here in Toronto. It’s an afternoon of free and unique experiences that includes interactive games, a chance to meet and get autographs from all of the Argos players, coaches and cheerleaders, catchup with hundreds of other Double Blue fans and more!
Fans will also be invited to participate in hands-on drills in the Argos Family Fun Zone where activities will include Argos Kick & Throw, the Argo-Cise inspired Obstacle Course, and a Quarterback Roll-out Challenge. Pickup brand new 2012 Argos Reebok merchandise, including the team's re-engineered Premier jerseys, and maybe even get it signed by reigning East Division Outstanding Special Teams Player, Chad Owens or dynamic, new receiver Jason Barnes.
Marc Angelo Foods will once again be on site with their delicious BBQ sausages, and the Toronto Sun will setup a photo wall to document all of the most memorable moments. Select photos from the day's activities will be available on argonauts.ca and the Argonauts’ Facebook page (Facebook.com/ArgosFootball) following the event.
Fans will also get to watch the Argos practice and hear from new in-stadium announcer Chris Lyons during a special introduction of the final 2012 squad. The 2012 Argos Cheerleaders presented by the Toronto Sun will perform throughout the afternoon to music provided by a live DJ, as well as host a Junior Cheer clinic for kids. The most entertaining mascot in the CFL, Jason, will make an appearance and Argos in-stadium host Mark "Strizzzy" Strong will again emcee the event. We encourage all fans to go green and stay hydrated by bringing along a reuseable container to fill at the complimentary on-site water refill station.
