MISSISSAUGA -- The Toronto Argonauts Football Club would like to congratulate rookie RB Chad Kackert on being named CFL Offensive Player of the Week. This is the first time in his young CFL career that Kackert has won this award and he’s the first Argonauts player to earn a weekly award in 2011.

Kackert had the best performance of his career thus far during a heartbreaking 26-25 loss last week at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. The New Hampshire grad rushed the ball 20 times for a career-high 139 yards and scored 2 touchdowns against what was the CFL’s best rushing defence. Kackert capped off two of the Argonauts’ first four possessions with touchdown runs and finished the first half with 80 yards on the ground. His 59 yards in the second half still outgained any rusher on the Eskimos. It was the first time Kackert had run for over 100 yards in his career and it was his second multi-touchdown game of the season. Kackert now has five touchdowns in three regular season games for the Boatmen.
