When news came in that Haiti was struck with one of the most devastating earthquakes in recent history it touched thousands of Canadians.  For two Argos, however, the news hit way too close to home.

Both WR Obed Cétoute and LB Raymond Fontaine have close family in many of the areas hit hardest by the quake and are pleading for people to give in any way that they can.

“We are trying to encourage everybody to continue donating money, food, clothes or shoes through the Red Cross or help out in any way that they can”, said Cétoute, who along with Fontaine, is fluent in Creole.

“I personally have family in Haiti who were lucky to only have minor injuries but I have a lot of friends who have, unfortunately, passed away.”

Monday afternoon, Cétoute recorded a plea with Argos Access producers Sun TV to try and increase awareness and encourage people to give.  Please click here to watch the video.
