Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today that receiver Arland Bruce III will be sent down the road to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in exchange for the rights to non-import defensive lineman Corey Mace and a third round pick in the 2010 CFL Canadian Draft as well as a conditional pick in the 2011 draft.

Argonauts General Manager/VP, Football Operations, Adam Rita commented, “We would like to thank Arland for his contributions on the field over the years and wish him well.  We believe we received the best value we could get for Arland given the circumstances.  We believe strongly in the direction in which our organization is headed.”

Bruce originally joined the Argos as a free agent on September 3, 2004. Over six seasons in Toronto, he dressed for and started in 77 games, catching 327 passes for 5,086 yards and 40 receiving touchdowns. He was also a threat on special teams scoring two regular season punt return touchdowns and a clutch kickoff return touchdown in the 2004 East Final. The 2004 Grey Cup champion was also a key post-season contender for Toronto accumulating 636 all purpose yards in six playoff games.
